According to a recent ABC 6 news report, a SEPTA train smashed into a car in Delaware County, PA on Sunday, June 21. The SEPTA train accident occurred around 2:40 pm at the 100 block o East Brookhaven Road. The train struck a car which was operated by a 90-year old man. The 90 year old driver had to be pulled from the wrecked vehicle and was transported by EMS to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in serious condition. The train was carrying 20- passengers at the time of impact. Fortunately, only one passenger reported minor injuries following the violent collision. The remaining passengers were offered bus rides to their final destinations.
The
SEPTA train accident is currently under investigation and police have not yet determined why the car was on the train tracks. SEPTA service near the Wallingford Station was briefly disrupted but service has since been restored.
